Anton has made a signifcant impact in the rugby world as the Founding Director of the Western Province Rugby Academy (now WPIRI), where he helped build the Institute into the powerhouse that it is today. His passion for rugby has allowed him to establish numerous local and international relationships, helping to create some of today’s great rugby superstars. Anton recently fnished his season as the SWD Eagles Head Coach, where he experienced great success.

Vincent is a registered Biokineticist, and is also a HFPA Lecturer at the Stellenbosch campus. Vincent holds a BSc Sport Science degree from the University of Stellenbosch and BSc (Med)(Hons) degrees in Exercise Science and Biokinetics from the University of Cape Town. Notably, Vincent is a published frst-author in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, with his article already garnering 10 citations.

With a career spanning over 120 first-class caps, Brendell has left an indelible mark on the sport. From winning the Bankfin Cup with the Blue Bulls to representing the Pumas in the S.A.

7’s tournament and the Vodacom Cup, Brendell’s playing career speaks volumes. Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Brendell has coached at various levels, demonstrating his versatility and expertise

Thapelo Moshodi

As a proud alumni student-athlete of the UXi Rugby Institutes, he spent two years at the UXi FSIRI, showcasing immense talent as a forward and representing the Toyota Cheetahs U/20 and U/21 teams. An unfortunate neck injury during a training match ended his playing career prematurely. Undeterred, TP focused on his education, pursuing a Certificate in Sports Administration through HFPA. Despite the setback, his dedication to rugby remained unwavering.

Dolf Botha

Forward Specialist Coach

Dolph Botha is an accomplished forward with extensive local and international experience. A former Grey College First XV and Craven Week champion, he went on to represent Free State at U/19, U/21, Vodacom Cup, Currie Cup, and Super Rugby level with the Cheetahs. His professional career includes standout seasons in the USA with the San Diego Legion and New England Free Jacks, as well as stints in Russia, Poland, and France.

Frans Burger

Frans Burger is a passionate rugby and strength & conditioning coach with experience across school, club, and high-performance youth rugby. Currently completing a Master’s degree in Performance Coaching, he is driven by a strong belief in sport as a tool for personal development and performance excellence. He has coached across multiple age groups, including Blue Bulls U/15 TID, school and club rugby, and international Sevens as Head Coach of Vipers International 7s.
